Deadline for Crew Registration
|
3.1 - The Regatta Committee shall from time to time establish an annual deadline for registration of crews.

Crew Registration(s)
|
3.2 - Registration shall be in a form as prescribed from time to time by the Rules Committee and such registrations for crews and oarspersons shall include:
|
(a) - a Preliminary Registration Card to be fully completed by all crews or by their designated official representative (as prescribed) prior to a crew going out on the pond for training; and
(b) - an Official Registration Card to be fully completed by all crews or their designated official representative (as prescribed) prior to the Time Trial heats.The registration card shall contain the full name, physical address, phone number, and birth date of each crew member, the name of the Official Representative, the name of the sponsor, the name under which the crew intends to row and such other information as shall be stipulated. In the case of Juvenile, Midget, Intermediate, and Masters crews, birth certificates for all crew members (except the coxswain, manager and coach) shall accompany the registration card. Any registration fee prescribed from time to time by the Regatta Committee shall accompany the official registration card filing procedure and application process.

Address of Official Crew Representative
|
3.3 - The address of the Official Representative shall be considered to be the official address of the crew and any notice from the Regatta Committee or any official or representative of the Regatta Committee to the crew may be delivered to such address and shall be deemed to have been served on all crew members if left at that address.

Failure to Comply
|
3.4 - Failure to comply with the provisions of Rule No. 3.2(b) shall render a crew ineligible to participate in the Time Trial heats and Regatta Day races in the year in question.

Change of Crew Member and Possible Appeal
|
3.5 - No change of a crew member or coxswain shall be made after the filing of the official registration card unless the Chairman of the Rules Committee is notified in writing and has approved in writing of the change. An appeal may be made from the refusal of the Chairman of the Rules Committee to approve the change of crew member or coxswain provided that the Official Representative of the crew shall appeal the decision in writing within two days of the decision of the Chairman of the Rules Committee. Notice of appeal shall be deposited with the Honorary Secretary of the Regatta Committee and the appeal shall be heard by the Board of Directors of the Regatta Committee whose decision shall be final and shall be made within five (5) days of the receipt of the notice of appeal by the Secretary. Until the Board of Directors has disposed of the appeal, the decision of the Chairman of the Rules Committee shall stand.

Objection to a crew or oarsperson
|
3.6 - The Chairman of the Rules Committee shall cause a list of all officially registered crew members and any changes to registered crew members to be posted at the Boathouse, Quidi Vidi Lake, St. John's. Any crew shall be entitled to object to the entry of any member of any other crew if the objection is made in writing within forty eight (48) hours after the posting of the crew composition or amendment thereto. Notice of objection shall be deposited with the Honorary Secretary of the Regatta Committee and the objection shall be heard by the Board of Directors of the Regatta Committee whose decision shall be final and shall be made within five (5) days of the receipt of the notice of objection by the Honorary Secretary. Until the Board of Directors has disposed of the objection, the decision of the Chairman of the Rules Committee shall stand.

Notice of meeting to affected crew member(s)
|
3.7 - The crew member affected by any decision under Rules 3.5 and 3.6 and any participant objecting under Rule 3.6 shall be entitled to notice of the meeting of the Board of Directors and to be heard.

All oarspersons to be same gender
|
3.8 - All oarspersons of a registered crew, as outlined under Rule 3.2(a) and 3.2(b) shall be of the same gender.

|
No race -- insufficient crews
|
3.9 - Where, in the opinion of the Chairman of the Rules Committee there have been insufficient crews officially registered to justify the holding of a race, the Chairman of the Rules Committee may, in his or her sole discretion, determine that no such race shall be held on Regatta Day. No race shall be scheduled with less than three or more than five participating crews.

Insurance criteria to be approved by Regatta Committee
|
3.10 - Should any participant or member of the Regatta Committee be required to obtain insurance of any type relative to Regatta activities, such insurance criteria shall be in accordance with current regulations, policies, and procedures as first approved by the Regatta Committee applicable to this requirement

Oarspersons may row in one division only
|
3.11 - An oarsperson shall be permitted to row in one race category/division only during an official Regatta Day rowing event; that is to say, if an Intermediate oarsperson wishes to row in a senior racing event, he/she shall not be eligible to row in an Intermediate racing event.

All crew members to wear approved dress code. Coxswain to wear approved safety floating devices.
|
3.12 - All members of a registered crew, including coxswains, when rowing on the pond must wear approved suitable clothing attire, such as soft/pliable footwear, shorts/sweat pants, T-shirts, gloves, or other suitable and approved clothing attire as approved, or as directed, by the Rules Committee. In conjunction with Rule 6.3, coxswains shall wear approved safety floating devices at all times, as approved by the Provincial Safety Regulatory Body for such type sport racing events.

Oarsperson to row with one crew only
|
3.13 - An oarsperson shall only be permitted to register and row with one (1) crew.

Race Course lengths
|
3.14 - Modifications To Regatta Shells: Extension to the front of the seat is permitted up to 2 inches beyond the existing lip. No extension is permitted to the rear of the seat. Foot-board modifications that includes affixed footwear or alternate strapping devises other than the straps/restraints provided, is not permitted.

Race Course equipment
|
3.15 - Non-compliance with Rule 3.14 will result in disqualification from any official Regatta event.

|
Adhesive materials
|
3.16 - The use of any form of tape or such adhesive materials, by participants to modify or to attach to any component of the shells, is not permitted. For the purposes of attaching any allowable seat modification, as herein described, the use of Velcro is permitted, provided such form of attachment will not cause damage to the shell.
